Eugene Municipal Airport is a public airport located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Eugene in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The airport's IATA code is EUG.

Once known as Mahlon Sweet Field, the airport was named after a local car salesman in Eugene, Oregon, who had a passion for aviation. He was instrumental in establishing the current airport and the earlier, defunct Eugene Air Park.

The Eugene Airport is the state's second-largest airport despite being a minor hub facility. These airlines make it possible for passengers to connect to any global destination. There is a parking space for vehicles and a selection of stores and restaurants.

The employees and management of Eugene Airport are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to passengers by ensuring that the airport's facilities are always tidy, risk-free, and comfortable.

In addition to establishing high standards for the delivery of services, it promotes and rewards employee initiative, innovation, and diversity.

Keeping a safe and secure airport, being committed to sustainability efforts, and continuing to provide high-quality air service to southwest Oregon are the primary focuses of this organization.

History of Eugene Municipal Airport

The first iteration of the Eugene Air Park was constructed in 1919 at the southeastern intersection of West 18th Avenue and Chambers Street in response to a request from Mahlon Sweet.

This initial runway was responsible for all aviation operations until 1943, when the current Mahlon Sweet Field opened for business.

The airfield was utilized by the Army Air Forces of the United States of America during World War II. The C&GS diagram from December 1951 shows three runways forming an asterisk.
